Keeper Password Manager App Reviews

145 Customer Reviews:

keeper is one of my favorite utilities of all time and it has truly improved the way I administer and manage accounts. I have a lot of critical information at my fingertips at all times, accounts and passwords, of course, but also—social security numbers; vehicle vins, license plates, driver’s licenses, health insurance information, and whatever else you can imagine. The problem with the desktop app is that it is just web front end. If you are offline, you cannot use the app. It is horrible. I’ve needed to use it on a plane to get a password in order to enable wifi, but couldn’t. Fortunately, I had my ipad near by, which includes local storage. But then I had to retype a very strong password, that I normally don’t because I have all the informaiton in Keeper.

Keeper is the best thing that ever happened to my online life. I used to write down all my (dozens of) passwords but would invariably neglect to jot down the one I’d need on my master list. Or I’d hide the list somewhere new and lose it. Or misspell or misalphabetize something. But not only does Keeper prevent all that, it goes with me so my written list doesn’t have to travel — or even exist. No threat of id theft, house fire, or other possible calamities that could befall my online business and pleasure. Not to mention the myriad other pieces of info Keeper keeps for me, such as my spouse’s vital info, notes on related accounts, frequent flyer numbers, and so forth. Keeper has never posed a problem for me, through new OS, new computers, across multiple devices … all seamless. Best app I ever bought.

I’ve tried a few apps out and this one is great, my passwords sync from my iPhone, iPad and Macbook also love the sharing feature to share some passwords with my wife. Only wish we had the option to move passwords from one folder to another. By the backup feature for peace of mind!

This app has been quite helpful on both iPhone and MBP. The pros: - It’s robust and straight forward. - Syncs very quickly. - Offers touch ID for easy iPhone sign in. - Appealing selection of visual themes. - Plenty of room to make notes in each card file - Offers a self-destruct mode after x login attempts. - Offers encryption option. - I’ve never had a security issue in 5 years of subscription The cons in my experience of over 5 years: - Syncs frequently create duplicate files, there is no way to select duplicates (triples or more) which requires manual deletion one at a time. Super annoying on both iPhone and MBP. - Syncing options are quite convoluded and inordinately redundant in the Mac version. Simplifed options of server backup and device sync would be much more useful to me. - It’s a little pricey for two devices - A scheduled sync option would be fantastic so all files are always up to date on server and all devices. - No option to enlarge text size. Overall, I do recommend the Keeper as a friendly, universal way to keep track of passwords, it makes it much easier to use more robust alphanumeric passwords.

I downloaded this app when I got my first Mac in 2009. The app was great then, or I should say the company’s interests seemed to include the customer’s interests as well then, and that hasn’t seemed the case in the last few years. The constant pop-ups forcing me confirm that I wish to “Stay Unprotected!” are obnoxious and, frankly, an affront. I feel like consideration of the customer has been thrown out the proverbial window in an all-out pursuit of profit. You can count me out of that game. I purchased the backup option a few years ago, but experienced too many issues when syncing between my Mac and iPhone, and I found that the price increases didn’t make sense for what I was getting out of the app, so I discontinued premium service.

I have had this app for four years. It has been perfect and never let me down. My favorite features are areas for notes and customized fields. I also use the password generator at times. I have the extension on safari and never have to worry about putting in the wrong password or user name because Keeper does it for me. Well worth the subscription fee I pay each year.

This software is incredibly easy to use and very reliable. One tip: If you store passwords in Google Chrome or another browser, you might get conflicting data if you update either Chrome or Keeper. I recommend that, if you’re paying for Keeper on multiple devices, as well as backup, use it exclusively. It works!

I have been using Keeper for several years on my iPhone, my IPad and my MacBook Pro. I really like this app, and it’s a convenient and wonderful addition to all my devices. I have so many passwords for digital and non-digital situations and I can easily access them wherever I am. I recommended the app to my husband and he uses it now, as well. In fact, I recommend this app to most of my friends and acquaintances, particularly when I see them struggling to remember a user name or password. I highly recommend Keeper!

The fact is that hackers can easily get into people’s devices in large measure because of poor practices in setting up passwords. Keeper can inventory your passwords or create complex ones that are difficult to hack. Also, by adding the site address to the profile within Keeper, one can access the link directly and Keeper can apply screen names and passwords. For those that have many password access sites, Keeper is the only password manager to efficiently use day-to-day.

Excellent App for storing passwords

I have been using this app for past three years. It works very well on my iMac, iPad and iPhone.

I’ve been using this app (Mac & iOS) for years! I love it and never had any issues with it! Such a relief to know my data is safe & easily accessible!

This is the first and only password app I’ve ever used. I’ve had it for a few years now and moved from the free to the paid version. The idea that the app shares the information across devices is great. I’ve had very few problems but have had a few—some from just my own lack of understanding. I LOVE being able to open the vault with my thumbprint. This is also great since my husband has very large hands and typing a complex password on the phone keyboard is really tough.

I use it constantly. Very adaptable, very straightforward. I like all the options for back-up. All my crucial info is in there and it avoids incredible frustration with all the passwords and user names I have to remember.

You’ll get the app loaded up and then it will tell you that you have to stay protected for $29.yr. I’ve used this app for 3 years and NOW I have to start paying for it. I don’t think so. Lot’s of free apps that won’t stick it up your a**.

I love using this APP ive stored my info here and have been using it for some time now. But when I decided to not pay for the service and switch to the free plan, all customer support wants to do is give me short term free trials that expire. I keep telling them I want to switch to the free plan and my words fall on deaf ears. Or in this case blind eyes because ive been chatting with them. At any rate be careful when calling or chatting with support. Be sure to say what you mean and mean what you say.

I recently updated Keeper – because the application was not even opening without it – and now I cannot access ANY of my passwords without agreeing to a subscription. Every time I try to log in and access my passwords, it tells me I’m unprotected. If I disagree to subscribing, it automatically logs me out, and I can’t even SEE the passwords I have in there. I have been using Keeper for months now, so all my updated passwords are held hostage inside Keeper. I have no backups written down anywhere (my own fault, I know). So thanks to Keeper, I have to hope I can remember all the passwords that I relied on Keeper to save for me. Frankly, it’s pretty crummy that this is listed as a free app on the App Store, when in reality you can’t do a thing on this application without subscribing. I am extremely disappointed in this application.

savagegenius v9.1 · 9 years ago

I agree with another review/s that say this holds your passwords hostage. I can’t access my passwords and they are forcing me to upgrade, BUT I CANT EVEN DO THAT BECAUSE I NEED MY PASSWORD TO ACCESS THE ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE THE UPGRADE. DO NOT GET THIS APP. Go for another app as there are plenty of FREE apps. This one is run by crooked people who will steal your passwords I have proof.

Jbeck89 v9.1 · 9 years ago

In the 5 or 6 months I’ve had this app it’s broken completely 3 times. Luckily, the previous two times I just needed to update the app, but not this time. I am literally unable to work without access to these passwords! This is the worst app I have ever used without a doubt! Now I begin the long process of starting over with another app.
