Keeper Password Manager App Reviews

Do NOT try this app! I signed up for the free version a few weeks ago, only to be told today that my trial has expired and I need to pay for a subscription, if I want to access my passwords. Since my passwords are now “hijacked”, I had no other option but paid $29.99 for a year of subscription. But guess what, after paying for it, I am still locked out! I went to their web site to complain and was told that my account is still expired and I was given 2 days of “grace period” before I have to pay for it again. So this company either produces buggy software at best, or is dishonest at worst. I am going to try to get my money refunded and stay away from them.

I have been using the free version of this app for two or three years, but with the latest update this app has become ransomware. The ‘free’ version of the app has become a ‘trial’, after which you will have to pay for a subscription to continue accessing any information you enter. The company made no attempt to inform me of this change and my trial expired before I could retrieve my information. I have contacted the company to see about extending the trial long enough for me to get the infomation I’d entered. Regardless of outcome, I would recommend staying away from this company with its shady business practices.

I’ve used the free version of this app for a few years now (just like another commenter) and all of the sudden I don’t have access to the free version anymore. With NO warning, the free version became the trial version and now I cannot access my passwords. I have so many important passwords in there and now they are holding them hostage until I pay (I can’t even take a peak at them). Thanks for getting my trust in having my passwords stored here and then locking out my access to them.

I guess the trial period expired and there was no way for me to retrieve my data other than paying for their service. I didn’t receive any kind of communications telling me the trial period was ending…

Just upgraded to 9.2. This version has a cleaner UI design yet familiar enough that it required no “Study". I have been using Keeper for about 4 years now. I’ve had several computer failures and IOS device changes over that time and never lost any of my login/account/password data. Overall, a very feature rich and reliable app. You get what you pay for and keeper has a lot to offer versus just the ability to save a password. To me, that makes it worth the price and annual renewal fee. Keeper allows you to save lots of info associated with your accounts. It also allows you to launch any account website URL stored within Keeper, directly from the account. No need to navigate to an account through a browser, a bookmark or web search. This feature gives me the confidence I’m always going to the correct secure URL. Keeper is a cloud service giving you secure and efficient account data management, and account access across any IOS or Mac that has Keeper app installed on. Its backup utility allows you to backup your account data to the cloud and/or export to PDF or text file. Hard copy backup of account login data is a must these days for estate management. Keeper also has a feature that allows you to grant access to another person for each individual record. Nice feature for family members who have a desire/need to share accounts. There is also a cost effective family plan offered to keep your family on the same app which simplifies password management for your family. I highly recommend this app because of its reliability and versatility for individual use or for password management for family use.

I’ve used Keeper for well over a year. Downloaded the FREE version and didn’t have a single issue (I have 60+ passwords, etc. entered). Then, recently, I clicked on the free trial to see if the backing up to the cloud was worth it. After my 30 days, I didn’t want to pay for the cloud service and wanted to revert to the free version again like the app says will happen. They won’t let you revert to the free version, you have to pay for the single user ($29.99/year). They’ve also given me two days “extension" to access my info. For what I don’t know since you cannot change subscriptions within the app, only pay for the single user. Once your trial is up, you’ll be stuck between paying them or finding another application. I don’t think they have a way to revert users back to the free version because through my emailing them they’re saying that I can use the free version on a mobile device instead of my iMac, where my current information is. Makes no sense. I was very surprised to see so many people with the EXACT same issue with the people at Keeper. If they can make these current changes without notifying their customers, what will they do in the future. Thank God I have a recent printed backup that I can revert to, no yearly fee for that.

Happily using the app for several months now. Really like that I can access across devices and on-line. Like all such things, effort is required to get all of your passwords loaded… but once in, it’s really helpful for remembering and managing your passwords. I feel more secure knowing that I have all my passwords in a safe place. I have not tried the advanced features like extensions or generation of complex passwords. I do keep mind of the apps assessment of the passwords I create. One note: I recently had an issue with opening my app on my Mac laptop. I had a fair amount of email with customer support and eventually a conversation to get the issue resolved/a work around in place: I was able to download and install the app from the Keeper website (as opposed to downloading and installing from the app store). Customer support was pretty responsive and hung in there for a couple rounds of exchanges. I ultimately spoke with live support. We had a solution in a few minutes; and they hung on to confirm it all worked. Sure, we don’t like an issue or not being able to sort things out for ourselves, but Keeper support was pretty much what you’d want: get it solved.

This App works well and is suppose to be free. Well its not free and has turned into RANSOMWARE. After the free period expired they wanted 29.95 to keep it active. I contacted them via there messenger and they unlocked the app for 48 hours so I could retrieve my passwords. This App is not worth 29.95 a year don’t download it.

This app is clear and easy to use. It syncs my information across all my devices. I can add additional notes and information that I need for each entry. It’s perfect, and they keep improving it!

I have used this app for several years and have had no problems or complaints at all. I have recommended the app to all of my friends and family. I have several hundred passwords in the vault and have never had any problems retrieving them. I have also used the random password option in the app several times. I highly recommend the app to every one. $29.99/ year to keep all of my passwords safe and secure is well worth it. Syncing between iPad, iPhone, Mac and Samsung phone is as simple as can be. Every time I get a new device , all I do is download the app and sync. Also reminds you when to backup. Great App!!

I have been using Keeper for several versions and it is the best tool I have found in the past several years! It is handy and a life saver. I have it on several devices, sync them and use it daily. Keeper allows me to use complex passwords and not have to remember them all. The only improvement I would like is for them to speed up the launch on iPhone as it is slow to ask for fingerprint authorization.

I’ve been using the paid version of this app for about a year now. I use it on my cell phone as well as my computer to keep track of my passwords. Everytime an update is made to the app things tend to get a little fuzzy. I got the message like some of the other people giving reviews about my account was expiring and I was going to lose access to the system. I believe that this process is a little misleading because my account should have renewed but it made me believe I had defaulted on a payment or something. I think the company needs to do a better job at handling these renewals. I also believe the company needs to do a better job at testing the updates because my app no longer works on my iMac since the last update.

If you had a homeless person with you 24 hours a day begging you for change at full volume, it would be less annoying and trustworthy than this company and app experience. It will pop up twice and email EVERY time you open the app. Once you finally succumb to the beatdown of endless pop ups and look to “explore” their upgraded service, they don’t show you pricing they just ask for authorization of payment. Truly awful. I wish I had some type of retaliation available.

I love this app. I manage a household of 5 so keeping up with everyone’s passwords is a huge undertaking. This app certainly feeds into my need for control and access. I have paid for very few apps, but I paid for all the bells and whistles on this one and haven’t been disappointed. Traveled to China recently and felt a lot of peace and mind that I had my travel documents securely stored in the app. Copies of birth certificates, important legal papers, photos of every card in my wallet. I’ve gone bananas. It’s so convenient to put all the answers to security questions right in the Notes. Search function if you can’t recall where you put a particular password. It really helped me get my sh*t together.

Don’t know about other competing apps…mostly because I don’t want or need any other password keeping application. Keeper is awesome! I love how it ports across all my PC and mac products, working together. My wife and I can share common passwords across her PC world and my MAC world. I also love how Keeper integrates with my online web apps so that I can easily enter website passwords and requested data. The only suggestion would be to enable to choose entry of banking information while within another website. Right now I have to open Keeper in its own window and paste in my credit card information. Would be nice to be in a web commerce app and simply select the Keeper entry for my credit card and pull it in. Otherwise, this app is perfect!

I constantly have to change my passwords because it wont allow the passwords to be used. It keeps saying they’re incorrect. Sometimes I can copy and paste the password and it will work but most times even that wont help. I should be able to get a refund considering how much I can’t actually use it.

Nearly perfect. It keeps all my passwords, the search function is handy. It hides passwords but can show them on request, integrates to clipboard, covers all my devices. It is not the only password safe I use, but this is the one that holds the passwords to the others, and this one has all my personal passwords. I would give it a five-star rating, but it seems I must have an internet connection to use the desktop app. t’s just that sometimes my password to get into an internet connection is in keeper, which requires internet access… a chicken and egg problem.

If I pay for a version of Keeper, I’d like to think that I will be able to access it on all devices. When I paid, I thought that was the case. It is asking me to pay per device. I dont like this and it makes me want to switch my info over to a cheaper option.

I almost become another of your victims . I feel more secure without this application , because “ KEEPER “ is just looking for your money , but the application is totally unsecure .
